Our Journey

We are the family behind Dovetail Designs.  We would like to introduce ourselves (Adam & Devon Suhler) and

share a bit of our story with you.

Where the name comes from: We have called our daughters little birdies since they were born so we knew we wanted a name which included birds.  We love the symbolism the Dove has in the Bible which is purity, innocence, and new beginnings.  Also, a "dovetail joint" is one of the strongest joints used in woodworking to connect two pieces of wood together.

 

We previously owned a small business for 8 years.  Over the past several months, God was nudging us to do something different, to make changes.  We were comfortable and successful with what we were doing, however, we had been longing for a much simpler life where we could focus on the family we are so blessed to have.  Adam has done woodworking as a hobby for many years and has been dreaming of one day making it a career.  He is so creative and quite the perfectionist.  The Lord has surely blessed the work of his hands, and we are so excited to share it with you.

From a massive 37" dual drum sander down to a small measuring calliper, Dovetail Designs has the necessary tools to complete the job with precision and care. Our workshop boasts equipment that would make even Tim "the Tool Man" Taylor excited, including favorites like a CNC machine, large cabinet table saw, bandsaw, dovetail jig, miter saw, radial arm saw, planer, and jointer. These expertly selected tools enable us to craft timeless woodworks that meet the highest standards for discerning tastes.
